Centrebet Casino
is one of the better Playtech software powered online casinos, this one being from popular Aussie based Centrebet. It forms part of a suite which aside from
sports betting and casino, also includes a poker room, mobile offerings and a games site. For those that don't know centrebet
already, they have been around since 1992 and operate bookmaking companies in the UK and Australia. In fact Centrebet Pty Ltd was
the first licenced bookmaker in the Southern Hemisphere! There...bet you didn't know that!
Anyway, I came across the casino about 18 months ago and have played there on and off since. Playtech software is pretty
extensive in what it offers, and if I had one criticism it is that it took quite a while to get a decent number of "fun"
slots. they always had a few, but only enough fun ones to make me dabble. It's better now and the slots "Desert Treasure"
and "A Night Out" are among my favourite online slots anywhere. I won't go into individual games in my casino review as
I'd be reviewing forever, but suffice to say they now have a very good range across the board (although video poker could
still be improved). Incidentally, stick to the slots in teh casino itself and don't play the slots under the "Games"
section of the Centrebet website which are truly awful!
When you install Centrebet casino software itself, which takes about 2 minutes, you have a wide choice of languages to choose from.
Once it's installed, you choose which games you want as and when you want them. One thing I particularly like about the
software at Centrebet is the Live Dealer games which include Baccarat, Sic Bo, Roulette and Blackjack. Until Microgaming
get Live Dealer Blackjack up and running, this is about the only place where you can play it live in a safe environment.
As an aside, if you like Baccarat and aren't bothered about having Live Dealers, then there is a version with better odds
available at
Cantor Casino that is worth checking out.
Although this is very much a casino review with a UK slant, I would also mention the presence of Asian games like Pachinko (although I'm
told it's not as good as the real thing by some way), Mahjong, Solo Mahjong and Dolphin Paradise. But I can't claim to know
how any of them play I'm afraid. There's a stack of what they term Arcade games which are pretty average, but the real
strength of Centrebet is in it's card games. In this section you'll find all the usual suspects plus Pontoon, Red Dog,
Casino War, Blackjack Surrender and a bunch of others I couldn't begin to understand!
As far as the casino operation itself goes, you're in safe hands and my experiences thus far have been very good. Cashouts
are quicker than most Playtech casinos I've played at and there is banking support for things like Neteller (which I use
myself), Moneybookers and of course credit and debit cards, although be aware that Mastercards can be a bit hit and miss
at any online casino. There is one pain in the butt though: when you cashout, it's a 2-stage process that involves visiting
the Centrebet website and logging in again to actually request the withdrawal. This is because the casino banking links in
with the sportsbook - you transfer funds between the two, but can only physically withdraw from the sportsbook itself.
Conclusion:
Centrebet Casino is a solid online casino with good support, excellent games (excepting video poker)
and an online casino you can definately trust.
